Chelsey’s Maternity Shoot

I had SO much fun taking pictures for Chelsey! Several years ago, she was actually my first client EVER. We reminisced about that session together and how patient and encouraging she was with me and about how much I’ve grown as a photographer since then!

However, prior to our very first session together, Chelsey and I worked together as brand new cardiology PAs at one of the hospitals in Raleigh, NC. Those times together are memories I will cherish forever. During all the chaos that consistently seems to happen at a hospital between the hours of 7 and 10 at night with another wave between midnight and 2am, there we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off making decisions about admitting cardiac patients from the emergency room and outside hospitals, placing orders to prep patients for procedures in the morning, and answering what seemed like a million questions from the nursing staff and after-hour clinic patients. Crazy doesn’t even begin to describe what it was like. However, once all the chaos seemed to be temporarily stable, we always made time for waffles, usually around 2am. It was during those super early waffle breaks that I really got to know Chelsey and her heart of gold (no pun intended.) She is easily one of the nicest people I know, and even five years later, I still feel that way about her. So it is of course no surprise that the man she married is equally as kind-hearted and personable as she. And they even let me attend their wedding 🙂

Her growing baby bump is a reminder of how lucky her new baby girl will be to have such wonderful, loving parents. Chelsey is just absolutely glowing in all of these photos, even after our two hour home made brunch of bacon, eggs, fuit, and you guessed it—waffles. I love how natural and calm Chelsey looks in the photos, further proof that she is destined to be an amazing mom. I am so excited for her and her husband to welcome their baby girl in a few more short weeks and I hope these photos will give them some smiles while they wait for her much anticipated arrival!
