The Benedict Family | Grandparents Session in Colorado Springs

My parents finally made it out to Colorado Springs! Prior to this trip, I hadn’t seen them in about 9 months, which is a long time for us! I am used to seeing them semi-regularly, especially since I have their oldest granddaughter and their only grandson (for just a few more days!). They initially had a flight booked several weeks prior, but thanks to a potential COVID exposure, they had to cancel their trip. Either way, we are always happy to see them.

As a way to document their time out here, I asked them to volunteer for a photo session with two of their grandchildren. Thankfully, they agreed! I had been scoping out some locations on my runs and stroller walks and was very excited to bring them here to take photos. The best part is that this perfect location was near a playground, so after a quick photoshoot, everyone enjoyed some time on the swings!

Grandma had previously bought Savannah her adorable plaid sailor dress, and coincidently (or not?) enough, brought out a matching Jon Jon (boy romper) for Orion! It was perfect!

During their stay, we enjoyed playing on several playgrounds in the area, touring the Cave of the Winds, seeing some iconic locations in Colorado Springs, and of course eating a lot of desserts. We shared a lot of laughs and enjoyed spending some quality time together. As always, their stay seemed to fly by and it was time to say goodbye before I was ready. Luckily, we already have another trip planned to see them!

Savannah just loves it when her grandma holds her. The baby was getting heavy for Grandma (“Gah”), so she handed him off to Grandpa. Next thing we knew, Savannah turned around and told her grandmother, “Now you can hold me!” And what grandmother can say ‘no’ to that? So, Gah picked her up and ultimately had traded the 20lb baby for a 30lb preschooler. I am not sure that that was entirely a fair trade!

We sure had fun with them and as always, are looking forward to our next visit! A few more photos of our adventures with them will be up on the blog soon, stay tuned!
