Welcome 2020! We had a lot happen in 2019—early in the year we found out we were pregnant, we moved from South Carolina to Colorado, my husband and I both started new jobs, and by the end we had added a new baby boy to our family. What an adventure! It was a great year, but also at times stressful. Moving, new jobs, and birthing babies are always stressful things no matter what year it is!
With the start of the new year, the holiday season has officially come to a close, thank goodness. I love almost every minute of it but I also dread it every year because there is so much planning and pressure to do it right. Christmas cards, Christmas parties, Thanksgiving feasts, hosting family (ALL of my family this year!), Halloween costumes, Christmas gifts, meeting Santa, enduring snow, etc. all add to the wonderful joy and stress that we refer to as the ‘Holiday Season.’ This year, I thought it might be fun do decorate cookies with my 2.5 year old daughter—that was a flop. And I also thought it would be fun to take her to see Santa—also a flop because she pooped her pants while in line. Ugh. BUT, we did enjoy some other holiday traditions like trick-or-treating around the neighborhood, decorating gingerbread houses, and of course nothing compares to the joy of watching a 2.5 year old open presents Christmas morning. These special moments make it all worth the stress year after year after year. Sadly, I was unable to capture every wonderful memory that we experienced this holiday season, but I did capture a few small ones that will serve me as a reminder of 2019 for years to come! Hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday season and that 2020 will be your best year yet!
