The Bishop family is the other family I was lucky enough to photograph over Labor Day Weekend at the Labor Day Lift Off! In case you haven’t seen my previous post, the Labor Day Lift Off was a hot air balloon festival right here in Colorado Springs that started every morning at 7 over the Labor Day Weekend with 78 hot air balloons blowing up and taking off into the sky! It was truly an awesome experience and I am so glad I was a part of it for 3 days in a row.
Unfortunately, with such an awesome local festival comes a little chaos and a lot of crowds. Luckily, the Bishop family was a dream to work with and really went with the flow. We didn’t get much time for introductions before I started snapping photos of them with the balloons. Since it was day three of the festival, the balloons blew up quickly and were really taking off fast! I wanted to grab some photos of them with the balloons on the ground so we really had to hurry! Dad also happened to be a superstar driver maneuvering the girls in their stroller through the insane amount of people in order for us to find a good spot to take a few photos.
Mom and Dad are high school sweethearts and have been together for over a decade. Now they have two beautiful little girls who are not only adorable, but very cooperative and photogenic as well! I was so impressed with how willingly and happily both girls smiled at me for photos! Not only do the girls love getting their pictures taken, but they also absolutely love each other. It was so sweet to watch them happily ride in their stroller together and how much Ellie Rose missed her sister during a quick potty break.
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and photographing this beautiful family. I hope they cherish these photos for years to come!
